LEGEND HAS IT that South Caicos was once a popular hideaway for plundering pirates roaming the Caribbean's high-seas. It is said their booty is buried somewhere along the shores between the islands of Blackbeard and Treasure island. Guarding the pirate's silver from unwanted swashbucklers stood "Sassy Sam", the sea serpent turned to stone at the entrance to the Island's only natural harbour.

South Caicos today has changed little from those days. It's sleepy harbour town of Cockburn sits quietly under the sun, its residence moving slowly with the mild pace of the wind. This is a fishing town, as it has been for hundreds of years, serving up delicious prizes like Lobster, Conch, Grouper and more.

Here is an island where nature prevails with long, white sandy beaches, jagged leeward-side bluffs, quiet back-water bays and salt flats teeming with pink Flamingos. A place where one quickly blends into it's serenity the day you set foot on the island.
