By the summer of 2005 things began to cool, primarily as a result of sellers and brokers listing properties above market values. The Naples real estate market was very hot during 2004 and the first half of 2005 because demand had far outpaced supply, builders of developments where caught off guard by high demand, thus behind in adding more housing to the market, investors jumping into the new construction and resell markets, and taking the properties gains (some took loses) for themselves, before ultimately passing the property onto the end user.
